Zoomlion successfully launched the ZTE520, the world's largest hybrid mining truck, in September 2024. With a rated payload of 300 tons and a total weight of 520 tons, it stands as one of the most capable and technologically advanced hybrid mining dump trucks globally. Its debut signifies China's leading independent R&D and manufacturing capabilities in high-end mining equipment.

 Core Technical Configuration

  • Powertrain: Equipped with Yuchai YC16VTD diesel hybrid engine, 52.3L displacement, V16 design,  delivering up to 3223 horsepower. Features a dedicated high-pressure common rail fuel system calibrated for severe mining conditions.

  • Energy Management System: Diesel-electric hybrid architecture with high-capacity battery pack, supporting regenerative braking and intelligent energy distribution.

  • Drive System: Innovative high-torque wheel hub motor direct drive, eliminating traditional drive shafts and improving transmission efficiency.

  • Cooling System: Vehicle-wide efficient liquid cooling technology ensures thermal stability during continuous high-power operation.

Performance Highlights

  • Approximately 15% lower overall fuel consumption compared to conventional diesel mining trucks;

  • 10% improvement in transport efficiency, with enhanced gradeability and loaded      start performance;

  • 100% localization of key components including electric drive axles, control      systems, and hydraulic systems;
